So here is the morning half of my skincare routine that has really helped clear up my skin. My acne has mostly disappeared (apart from a nasty outbreak I've just gotten after having a virus). I don't have major sensitivity issues and the redness in my face has pretty much disappeared.
I start by cleansing my face in the shower with the oddly non-foaming cleansing gel from Alpha-H, the Triple Action Cleanser. Some very mild cleansing agents with a dash of anti-bacterial Thyme make this a winner. I jump out of the shower and shake a bit of Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid onto a cotton pad and swipe it over the areas of my face prone to congestion to exfoliate them. Next up is Ole Henriksen's Truth Serum. One pump of this vitamin C serum covers my whole face to help treat hyper pigmentation. A dab of Bobbi Brown EXTRA Eye Repair Cream keeps my fine lines plumped. Finally, a pump of Alpha-H Daily Essential Moisturiser SPF30+ protects my face from the hot summer sun.
To keep the skin on my body as healthy as the skin on my face I use Sukin Botanical Body Wash in the shower on a shower puff. It's SLS free, smells fresh and I got this jumbo bottle for a bargain at Priceline. My unglamorous deodorant is Alvera Aloe Unscented Deodorant, which I've switched over to recently from a traditional anti-persperant. For about a week I was seriously smelly but now I am smell free with lovely moisturised pits (yum!). For the final step, I slather on Moogoo Cover-Up Buttercup SPF15. This is an all natural moisturiser with Zinc Oxide for sun protection. I really love this stuff to keep my exposed skin sun protected and super soft.
What are your favourite products to keep you fresh and ready for the day?
oh I love Alpha H - I've been wanting to try out more from their range. I have the liquid gold and its brilliant! I'm also a big fan of Origins skin care as well :) x
ReplyDeleteI really think Alpha-H's cleansers are a strength so if you're looking to branch out, I'd give them a try. I've always been interested in Origins!
DeleteOoh I really like the sound of that serum!
ReplyDeleteThe serum is really nice. It soaks in so quickly and smells yum.
DeleteI have the Truth Serum, it smells really yummy and citrusy x
ReplyDeleteGreat products! I recently got the Alpha-H gentle exfoliator and love it, but I haven't tried any other Alpha-H products yet. The vitamin serum looks amazing- it would be something I want to try- how well does it fare for hyperpigmentation? I also really want to try Moogoo products as apparently they are really gentle on the skin!
ReplyDeleteThe truth serum is really good. It's not a miracle worker on it's own, but it's the best vitamin C serum I've tried.
DeleteAlpha H always does amazing stuff: their vitamin a and c is soooo good. And Bioderma: well I literally cannot use anything else to remove eye make up. It is so great for sensitive eyes.
ReplyDeleteSukin always do such lovely products: I am keen to try their body wash. Shall head to pharmacy today to pick some up :) And moogoo is good for sensitive skin. I use their moisturiser. I haven't heard of their Buttercup product, but I did just run out of tinted moisturiser so looking for new options :)

I've beent thinking about getting the alpha H vit C serum when I'm done with my ole henriksen one just to try something different.
DeleteThe moogoo coverup buttercup is great for the body but it would be rather rich for the face I think.
Your routine is much more put together than mine! I really need to get a vitamin C serum, stat! Also, I never thought I'd read the words 'pit' and 'yum' in the same sentence without it being about Brad Pitt. (;
ReplyDeleteMmmmm Brad Pitt
DeleteYou use such nice, high quality products! I always get really jealous of everyone's products and want to go out and buy everything immediately. Yes, I am that easily swayed...

You got a jam-packed of beauty products. Looking at your pictures makes me believe they are really effective altogether, but I hope you consulted a dermatologist first. Some beauty products may contain ingredients that could be unsafe for your skin type. You may choose to try some natural beauty products available in your kitchen, like oats and milk for skin moisturizing, or egg yolk for skin elasticity. Keep us posted!
